Excellent food. Give it a try for something different. My favorite is the chicken shwarma. Also very good hummus. Tried many things here and have never been disappointed. Staff is always friendly. I usually order takeout for lunch and it's always ready in under 10 minutes.

It had both its ups and downs today. We ordered the following: hummus plate (regular, garlic, spicy, pesto, and sriracha) that comes with fried and regular pita chips, the salad and soup meal, and kafta (lamb and beef patties over rice) with soup. Bad: Overall, there was an overwhelming amount of oil and grease on pretty much everything. My girlfriend's salad had a half inch (not exaggerating) of oil on the bottom, and wasn't able to eat it. The pita chips that came in a plastic bag (why?) were limp and fell apart easily. The soup was microwaved. Good: the kafta meat was inoffensive, and the hummus and soup were decent. The server also had on short shorts, so that was a win as well. The gossip was fun as well, with the server sharing that the chef has had a lot of complaints the last two days, and "[doesn't] know what his deal is."

I was so excited to see an Arabic restaurant here. My excitement was dashed when I saw the staff: not a single Arab on staff. Not even in the kitchen. No worries, I thought. It could still be decent. I was wrong. The food is a soulless approximation of Arabic food. The idea is there, but the execution leaves much to be lacking. I live within walking distance of this restaurant, and I'd rather drive 3 hours to Dearborn for real Arabic food than come here. If you've never had real Arabic food, you might enjoy it. If you have, you're better off keeping away.

We love Tazeh...it's one of our favorite new restaurants in Mt. Pleasant. (And what a relief to finally have a Middle Eastern restaurant up here in jackpine country.) We thoroughly enjoy all the iterations of hummus, which is beautifully creamy; appreciate the fresh, flaky pita bread so unlike the standard supermarket pita; love the shwarma; love the baba ganoush, which we were told was a family recipe from an Iranian chef; love the garlic sauce. Portions are generous, to say the least, and the menu's price range is comfortable for "starving" students and townies alike; lots of menu options and value meals. The waitstaff, when we've visited, has been young and a bit inexperienced, but very friendly, helpful and enthusiastic about the food. The restaurant interior is spartan but neat and clean, and the aromas coming from the kitchen are wonderful. The restaurant is easily overlooked on a street lined with generic strip malls and shopping centers, and the "OPEN" sign is actually quite difficult to see on a sunny day, but it's certainly worth looking for if you're in the area and want something different than Restaurant Row food. My only criticisms/advice: 1) I'd love to see some lamb on the menu; 2) I happen to enjoy the pickled turnips that come as a garnish on the plates and wouldn't mind a few more of them, although I realize they're an acquired taste; 3) Maybe spotlighting tea and coffee, and adding some Middle Eastern pastries in an attractive display, would help attract more business between the busy mealtime hours; it's a nice place to meet with a friend for a snack, work on the computer, etc.

Food was very good. Nice portions. The only game in town for Middle Eastern in MP and they do okay.

Average middle eastern food, and we had slow service. The waitress was complaining about the cook, so it could have just been an off day. Nothing too special, but still pretty tasty.

Been here twice and both times food was just okay. Something is missing from the food. I've had better middle eastern cuisine but for mt pleasant it's okay. The atmosphere is nice and decor is simple. We probably won't rush back but would return to change up dinner/lunch options.

One of the best restaurants in Mt Pleasant! We will definitely be coming back, and highly recommending this establishment to all our friends!
